Set up your first screen
Setting up a hotel needs a browser, the TVs that are already on site, and about half an hour. Nobody comes out to install anything, and there is no appointment to book.
Before you start
- The hotel logo, if you want it on the screen.
- The colour the buttons should use.
- The details a guest may want to read: front desk number, breakfast hours, Wi-Fi instructions, anything you decide to publish.
- Access to the TVs, or to the person who can reach them.
1. Create the account
Sign up in the console — the sign-up button on this site leads there. Registration asks for the hotel name, the country and how many TVs the property has.
Pick a plan at the same time. The free plan covers a single small property, so the whole setup below can be finished before any payment is made.
2. Fill in the hotel details
Anything you leave empty does not appear on the screen. Starting with the minimum is fine; the rest can be filled in later without losing anything.
3. Upload the logo and pick a colour
The colour is used for buttons and highlights across every screen of that hotel.
4. Choose a template
A template is a finished layout with the entries already in place: welcome screen, hotel services, announcements, guest information. Pick the closest one — every part of it can be changed afterwards. Templates you build yourself stay in your own library.
5. Connect the first TV
Open Screen Composer on the TV. It shows a pairing code. Type that code in the console.
The code connects one TV, once. It cannot be reused, and it should not be forwarded: typing a code is how a TV gets bound to your account, and a code that has been used will be refused.
6. Preview, then publish
Preview the screen in the editor, then publish. Every TV connected to that hotel picks the screen up. From then on a change is one publish away from every room.
